European champions Chelsea have been linked with a shock move for a former Manchester United star.
Thomas Tuchel is believed to be looking for reinforcements in the goalkeeping department after Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero parted ways with the club last month.
The Telegraph have now reported that former Red Devils shot-stopper Sergio Romero has now emerged as a possible target for the Champions League winners.
Romero spent six years at Old Trafford but fell out of favour when the club decided to recall Dean Henderson despite being one of the best back-up goalkeepers in the league.
Romero was reportedly set to join Everton at the start of the season but the Red Devils surprisingly blocked the move and was frozen out of the squad.
The Argentine shot-stopper could provide capable cover for Eduoard Mendy, who has seemingly taken the number one spot after his role in helping the club win the Champions League.
The Blues have also been linked with former Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, but he has since joined Burnley while Middlesbrough’s Marcus Bettinelli was also said to be a target.
