With Chelsea set to get new billionaire owners, the club have reportedly drawn up an eight-man shortlist of transfer targets ahead of the new season.

The Blues finished the 21/22 season with the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup, but ended third in the Premier League and failed to secure any domestic honours.

The sale of Chelsea to a American-lead consortium was approved by the UK Government this week, with the club now expected to move forward on transfer plans.

The Telegraph have reported that Sevilla defender Jules Kounde and RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol are top of the Blues' list of targets.

The former European champions are set to lose both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on a free transfers next month and are eager to find replacements quickly.

The other defenders on the reported wish list includes, Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez and Villarreal star Pau Torres, who is also said to be a target for Manchester United.

The report adds the midfield is another department where Thomas Tuchel aims to bolster, with AS Monaco rising star Aurelien Tchouameni making the list although they will face competition from Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Some of the Blues' other targets include former youth team player Declan Rice and Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling, as the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic have been linked with exits.
