Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is set to complete his long-awaited move to the Premier League champions after Leicester City agreed to sell him for about £60 million (R1 billion).
The 27-year-old will undergo a medical at the Etihad Stadium this week, with all major aspects of the deal having already been agreed between the two clubs, according to Sky Sports.
Mahrez was close to joining City on Deadline Day in January, but Leicester asked for £80 million (R1.36 billion) at the time, and City pulled out of the deal.
The majority of the Foxes' squad reported back for pre-season on Monday, but Mahrez and his Algeria teammate Islam Slimani are only expected to return next week.
However, Sky Sports believe the winger will not need to return to Leicester as he will be a City player in the coming days, and will become the seventh African star to play for Guardiola once the deal is completed.
