Garde Parts Ways With Villa

Aston Villa confirmed the departure of Remi Garde as manager by mutual consent on Tuesday.
 
The Frenchman took over the reins at Villa Park on 2 November 2015, but struggled to turn around their poor season.
 
Villa are bottom of the Premier League standings, 12 points below safety.
 
A statement on the club's official website read:
 
Manager, Rémi Garde, has today left Aston Villa Football Club by mutual consent.
 
The Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Rémi for all his efforts during a difficult period and wish him well in the future.
 
Eric Black will take over as acting manager until the Club appoints a new manager.
