Liverpool 2-0 Southampton
Liverpool kept their top-four hopes alive in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Southampton on Saturday evening.

Diogo Jota came the closest to breaking the deadlock in the 25th minute after cutting inside from the right side of the box to have a clear sight of goal but his thumping effort was saved by goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
Che Adams had a big chance for the Saints on the half-hour mark in a one-on-one with goalkeeper Alisson after a square pass but he was denied by the Brazilian from point-blank range.
Jurgen Klopp's charges finally broke the deadlock immediately thereafter, as Sadio Mane finished off Mohamed Salah's cross with a header at the back post.
The Reds were conservative coming from the break, with Southampton probing to come back into the game but they could not carve chances as Ralph Hasenhuttl made a double change in the 66th minute, bringing on Michael Obafemi and Ibrahima Diallo for Nathan Tella and Walcott.
Diallo came close to snatching the equaliser for the Saints five minutes later with a looping strike from the edge of the box that was parried over the bar by Alisson.
However, Thiago Alcantara secured the three points for the Reds in stoppage time with a neat strike from just outside the box as Klopp's men sith six points behind fourth-placed Leicester City..
