Teams: Manchester City v Liverpool
Date: 08 November 2020
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Last season's top two renew their rivalry in the Premier League when Manchester City welcome Liverpool to the Etihad this evening.
Man City have been unconvincing since the start of the season and there are question marks around their ability to compete with Liverpool for the title after the Reds had a cakewalk to the holy grail last season.
Pep Guardiola's charges are yet to win back-to-back Premier League matches this term and will have a chance to change that after they narrowly beat Sheffield United 1-0 last Saturday.
City were handed a major blow ahead of the tie as Sergio Aguero will only be fit to play after the international break but Gabriel Jesus and Nathan Ake have both recovered from injuries.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp's troops have kept up to their standard and are second on the log only by a small margin of a lesser goal difference than surprise leaders Southampton.
Liverpool could make City's pursuit of the title even more difficult with victory as that will steer them eight points clear of Guardiola's men and three points clear at the top of the log.
The Reds are starting to pick up their form after a 7-2 demolition by Aston Villa, with back-to-back wins over Sheffield and West Ham United giving them their swagger back while they thrashed Atalanta 5-0 in the UEFA Champions League this week.
Here's how they line up:
Manchester City: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo, Gundogan, Rodrigo, De Bruyne (C), Torres, Sterling, Jesus
Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Matip, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Firmino, Jota, Mane, Salah.
