Given their current form and position on the Premier League table, Watford face a great risk of being relegated to the English Championship if there is not an immediate upturn in results.
Following the recent sacking of Claudio Ranieri, the Hornets have announced the arrival of veteran manager Roy Hodgson, seemingly on a contract until the end of the season as they gear up for a challenging second half of the campaign.
Watford, who are 19th on the table, have picked up only 14 points from 20 league matches so far, with 20th-placed Burnley only two points behind them with two games in hand.
Their tricky situation has not deterred players from joining the club in this January transfer window, though, as they have secured the signatures of five players, including four senior African internationals.

One of them, 22-year-old Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, will only officially join the team from the 2022/23 campaign as he will spend the rest of this season on loan at Sparta Rotterdam, whom he signed for in 2020 from Dusseldorf in Germany.
Ivorian left-back Hassane Kamara was also lured to the Hornets earlier this month, in a deal worth €4 million (R69 million) from French side Nice, where his playing time had appeared to become limited. The 27-year-old has already made two appearances for Watford in the Premier League.
The club has strengthened in midfield with the arrival of 23-year-old DR Congo defensive midfielder Edo Kayembe, who was poached from Belgian side KAS Eupen, where he had been playing regularly in the first half of the campaign.
