The Gunners frontman has been in terrific form so far this season, having already found the back of the net on 12 occasions across all competitions.
On Sunday, in Arsenal's scintillating 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby, the 29-year-old struck twice, and although he is now out on his own as the Premier League's leading goalscorer, there was something perhaps even more impressive that he achieved.
Aubameyang has now scored with his past 10 shots on target in England's top division, a run last pulled off by former Blackburn Rovers striker McCarthy in 2007, according to Opta Sports.
McCarthy scored a total of 37 EPL goals in his career, while the ex-Borussia Dortmund forward has already found the net on 20 occasions since his debut in England's top flight in January.
Aubameyang is proving to be worth every cent spent on him by Arsenal at the start of the year, having contributed to 28 strikes in 32 matches for the London club so far.
