Philippe Coutinho Names Two Stars Who Could Lead Liverpool To Silverware
FC Barcelona new boy Philippe Coutinho has named two stars he believes could lead Liverpool to silverware in his absence.
The Brazilian became the second most expensive player in history after completing his £142 million (R2.38 billion) move to the Blaugrana from the Merseyside club on Monday.
Coutinho, who signed a five and a half year deal with the Spanish giants, has since tipped Virgil van Dijk and Egyptian Mohamed Salah to take the club forward in their search for silverware.
"The signing of Virgil van Dijk is a statement, Mo Salah is a wonderful footballer," Coutinho told the Daily Mail.
"I look forward to watching them win trophies and to celebrating their success.
"I would not have left for any other club, but Barcelona is something different. It is a dream, a place of magic for me."
The 25-year-old will not make his debut for the Blaugrana until the end of January as he is currently nursing a thigh injury.
