The 25-year-old, who came off the bench with 22 minutes to play, helped the Blaugrana beat city rivals Espanyol 2-0 in the Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg.
After the game, the Brazilian playmaker mentioned it was a special night for him and a memory he will never forget.
"It was a very special night for me. I'm not going to forget it. All the fans and the players greeted me really well, they helped me a lot,” Coutinho told Barca TV.
"I was a bit nervous and anxious, but later I calmed down and adapted to the game. I am very happy to have played my first minutes with this club. I was moved by my reception.
"In the end, we won, which was the most important thing and got through to the next round. It was a difficult game as we expected. They waited for us on the counter, but from the first moment we controlled the play, we had a good game, and we deserved the victory."
Now that his debut is out the way, the Brazil international will be hoping to get his first start for his new club against Alaves on Sunday.
