Salah, who beat out competition from Kevin de Bruyne and Harry Kane, is also the first Egyptian to win the award.

Manchester City winger Leroy Sane was named the PFA Young Player of the Year as his nine goals and 12 assists played a key role in the club's title-winning campaign.

Sane finished first in the voting ahead of Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling, who finished second and third respectively.

Salah please come to Chiefs and help us. You can come play 15 games and then leave. Come show Castro, Molongoane, Ekstein, Katsande le Moon how to score please. Now people are getting hurt at stadiums because of these cows and the next thing supporters blame the coach.

Last season Kante won the award he ddnt get double figure goals maybe not even 5...most Man City goals this season are tap-ins, let's say if one their player was leading goal scorer we wouldn't then say he is POTY based on goals he scored

@Giles Bolivian m nt saying Salah's performance must nt be lauded, m asking that since PFA awards are for domestic campaign (not Continental i.e UEFA comps) what else cn we point from Salah as him being awarded POTY, if we take goals away from both De Bruyne and Salah what influence has he had on Liverpool campaign

DeBruyne Was On and Of,He is My favourite Player with Hazard in England But They Were On And Off.. At least Leroy Sane Improved a lot, He Is the one who could Challenge Salah Not My FAVOURITs Kevin and Hazrad who were on and Off... let Us not Judge By Favouritism, let us Judge By Wat is Obvious, not our Perceptions

C'mon ppl I know these are individual awards but your individual performance has to benefit the team. Leicester winning campaign Kante was awarded he didn't score maybe 5 goals (correction needed)...

People don't' get it twisted the PFA awards are for domestic English campaign not Europe, there's UEFA awards for Champions League and Europa league, so for domestic campaign what has Mo. Salah's goals got Liverpool...personally I think he must get the Golden Boot that's if he's still finish top scorer

@Giles Bolivian Very true, even in England i wasn't sure he was gonna get the player of the year because of his colour & background.
