Guardiola was visibly annoyed on the touchline during the defeat at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening due to a few of the referee's decisions.
According to the Independent, the bust-up started when City's Masseur and Chelsea's fitness coach had been arguing from their respective dug-outs.
Witnesses claim the pair were involved in a heated exchange in the tunnel, before Guardiola got involved.
Having already made his way to the change room, it is believed the former Barcelona manager came back out to defend his staff and was angered by a comment made by the Blues' fitness coach.
However, Guardiola did manage to calm himself before heading to the conference room to face the media for post-match interviews.
City have suffered six defeats in the league this season, making it the worst campaign Guardiola's has experienced in his career so far.
