Pep Guardiola has insisted that a certain Manchester City star still has a chance to prove himself at the Premier League outfit.
France international Eliaquim Mangala has not started a league game for the club this season, and spent the 2016/17 campaign out on loan at Spanish side Valencia.
The Citizens currently have a slight injury crisis in the defensive department, with John Stones, Benjamin Mendy and Vincent Kompany all sidelined for various reasons, but Guardiola has now stated he is ready to give Mangala a chance to prove himself.
"He's a player for us, and he will stay here. In the future, in the winter break and open window in the summer, we are going to assess everything, not just Manga," the Spanish tactician said, according to The Sun.
"We will see if you are happy or not, playing or not, and you have to decide. He has to decide if he wants to stay here.
"Manga is a player with a lot of experience at a high level, Valencia, Porto, here, the national team."
The 26-year-old has made 70 appearances for the Premier League side since joining them in 2014, assisting three goals along the way.
