Pep Guardiola’s Assurance To Yaya Toure
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has given African star Yaya Toure some assurance despite his lack of first team football.
The former FC Barcelona star made his 300th appearance for the Citizens on Wednesday night in the 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in the League Cup.
After the game, Guardiola promised the 34-year-old that he will be getting game time and that he remains a valuable member of the squad.
“We are going to use him,” Guardiola said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
“We need him, and of course it’s not easy for the players who didn’t play in the last games.
“But he showed his personality because it’s not easy for him to play in these type of games at West Brom but he did it well, and that’s why we’re happy for him to come back.”
Toure played the full 90 minutes against the Baggies, which was his first taste of competitive football this season.
