Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed how much trouble his team is in.
The Citizens beat Bournemouth 2-1 in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night with a team featuring a few academy players, including 17-year-old striker Liam Delap, who opened the scoring.
Ahead of City's Premier League match against Leicester City on Sunday, Guardiola has revealed that his squad is riddled with injuries, with just 13 senior players fit.
"Well, the situation we have right now, we have just 13 players available in the first team," he said, according to Sky Sports.
"We need the academy, not just for the training sessions. They can be selected during the games.
"With the problems we have up front, of course Liam (Delap) will stay with us. We'll see if we need him or use him.
"But we cannot forget, like the same way we spoke about Phil Foden in previous seasons, he's just 17 years old.
"He has a lot of things to improve, steps need their own time."
