Following Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday evening, Pep Guardiola has claimed his record in England will be difficult for another team to repeat.
Goals from Sergio Aguero and Rodri were enough to hand the Citizens the trophy on Sunday, which was their eighth domestic piece of silverware out of the last nine competitions.
Speaking after the game, Guardiola appeared proud of his players, saying he believes it will be incredibly tough for City or one of their English opponents to repeat the domestic success they have achieved.
"It’s remarkable, from the last nine titles to win eight," he said, according to the Express.
"It would be so difficult for anyone to do it again.
"Not just for us but for our opponents, too. When you have a team that’s incredible in the Premier League, so many champions drop after winning the league.
Guardiola has won two Premier League titles, three Carabao Cups, two FA Community Shields and one FA Cup since the 2017/18 season.
