Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has commented on the recent reports linking his side with Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian international reportedly handed in a transfer request on Tuesday evening, after reports started to emerge that the Citizens were interested in his services.
Speaking ahead of his team's Premier League clash with West Brom on Wednesday, Guardiola was asked whether or not he was interested in the African forward and if City would be putting in a bid for him.
"I have interest in a lot of players, in good, good players. There are many," Guardiola said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
"The window is open until the 31st. we spoke many times with the club to see what is the best with the players we have.
"Right now, it's the same as what I said about (bids for) Alexis Sanchez, Laporte. It's not the place to talk about that. It is so, so difficult.
"It happened with Laporte because it's a buy-out clause. When you have to negotiate - there are examples from the past - it's always so complicated."
The 26-year-old has made 27 appearances for Leicester this season, scoring nine goals and assisting in nine more.
