The Spaniard put pen to paper on a new three-year contract with City, a deal that is said to be worth £60 million (R1 billion), as per the Daily Mirror.
Guardiola, who won the Premier League convincingly this season, now reportedly earns about £20 million (R340 million) a year and is the best paid boss not only in England, but in the world.
This new annual salary means the former FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has overtaken China boss Marcello Lippi as the best paid manager in the world.
Manager Jose Mourinho is said to be the third highest paid manager, ahead of Guangzhou Evergrande's Fabio Cannavaro and Jiangsu Suning's Fabio Capello.
