Arsenal suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to the Citizens in their midweek league encounter, an identical scoreline to their Carabao Cup final clash last Sunday.
With many believing it is time Wenger called it quits as manager, Guardiola spoke of his appreciation for the Frenchman after the match, and is confident the 68-year-old will make the right decision for the club.
"He knows my admiration for him," the Spaniard said, according to BT Sport.
"We play, we fight many, many times in Barcelona, a lot of times in Bayern Munich, a lot of times here in the Premier League. A lot of times.
"I can understand the situation. I know all the managers can be in that situation. He knows, he handles that situation. He has a lot of experience. He knows the club, he knows the Premier League, he knows his players. And I’m sure he’s going to take the right decision, for the club, for him, for the players, for everybody."
Arsenal legend Henry has been tipped to replace Wenger, and the Spanish tactician feels his former FC Barcelona player could be a successful head coach.
"If he wants to be manager, he has the talent to do it," Guardiola added.
The Gunners are currently sixth in the league, eight points behind fifth-placed Chelsea.
