Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has named one player he would like to see at Old Trafford next season, even though he thinks it is unlikely the transfer will happen.
Gareth Bale, who scored two stunning goals against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, hinted after the match that he would be consulting with his agent about next season as he feels he needs to be playing more regularly.
Scholes, who was often critical of his former side in the 2017/18 campaign, reckons every United fan would love to see Bale at Old Trafford next season, but added that he thinks this will only happen if Los Blancos decide they want to sell him.
"Can I see it happening? No, not really," the Englishman said, as quoted by the Daily Star.
"The only reason he'd want to leave Real Madrid would be if they wanted him to go.
"Could he come to Man United then? I hope so. Every United fan would want him: great ability, great talent, scores great goals.
"If it's possible then, yeah, great, I hope it happens. But I don't see it happening."
The 28-year-old, who came off the bench in Kyiv, made 38 appearances for Real in 2017/18, scoring 21 goals and assisting a further eight strikes.
