Paul Pogba Slammed By Manchester United Legend
A Manchester United legend has slammed record signing Paul Pogba after his reported row with manager Jose Mourinho.
The 24-year-old reportedly clashed with Red Devils boss Mourinho after being taken off by the coach in the 63rd minute of the club's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and in the 66th minute of their 1-0 loss to Newcastle United. In addition, Pogba also started United's 2-0 victory over Huddersfield from the bench.
There is a debate among fans and experts as to whether or not Mourinho is playing Pogba in the right role, with many believing the player needs to be given more freedom in a midfield with three players. The tactician, though, has often started Pogba alongside Nemanja Matic, giving the France star more defensive work to do.
Former United captain Roy Keane has now slammed the Frenchman, saying he needs to work harder.
"If you are going to play in midfield, you should be able to play in a two or a three," the Irishman said during ITV’s UEFA Champions League highlights show.
"The guy needs to do better himself and focus on what football is really about."
Despite United's recent struggles – they have suffered two defeats in their past three games – Keane believes they will beat Sevilla in their upcoming Champions League Round of 16 clash.
"I don't care about the last few league games," he added.
"Sevilla will give them a game but United should win. They will turn up for these couple of big games and I think they'll go through."
Pogba has made 23 appearances for United so far this season, scoring three goals and assisting a further 10 strikes.
