With Manchester City having reportedly offered Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba a contract, the Frenchman has made a decision on whether or not he is interested in joining the Premier League leaders.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, the 29-year-old has rejected an offer to sign for the Citizens as a free agent at the end of the season, and has communicated his response to those representing City in negotiations. 

It was reported at the weekend that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner was approached by the log leaders, who were interested in plotting an audacious swoop for the soon-to-be out-of-contract player. 

Pogba's current deal at the Red Devils expires in June, with it appearing highly unlikely he will extend his stay at the Old Trafford-based club given his near-broken relationship with United supporters. 

The journalist breaking the story has reason to believe Pogba has opted to snub City in favour of a different package elsewhere, amid suggestions Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain remain in contention to land his signature. 

Pogba returned to United from the Bianconeri, where he spent four seasons, in 2016 and has since battled to live up to expectations in England, despite enjoying some impressive runs of form. 

After a productive start to the 2021/22 season, supporters were excited at the prospect of the France international hitting peak form alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, but injuries once again interrupted his game time. 

Should he move on in June, he will do so having claimed just three pieces of silverware in six years at Old Trafford.
