Official: Pep Guardiola Confirms Manchester City Superstar Will Leave
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed the first player who will leave his title-winning squad at the end of the season.
The Ivorian has only made 16 appearances for City this, and will leave the club at the end of the 2017/18 campaign when his contract expires.
“Yaya Toure s not going to stay next season. The Brighton game, we will focus on winning and Yaya,” Guardiola said, as quoted by City’s official twitter account..
“We are going to try and win the game for him. Yaya came here at the start of the journey.
“Where we are now is because of what he has done. He was a key player.”
Toure joined City in 2010 for £27 million from FC Barcelona and has since made 315 appearances for the club, scoring 79 goals and assisting in another 50.
He gained superstar status in England has won seven trophies over his eight-year stint at the Etihad Stadium.
