Although City's pursuit of Lionel Messi ended with the Argentine confirming he will stay at FC Barcelona, the Premier League giants are continuing with their squad revamp.
The next player who has been allowed to leave is left-back Angelino, who has returned to RB Leipzig on a one-year loan deal.
The 23-year-old made 12 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side in the first half of the 2019/20 season, but spent the second part of the campaign on loan with the Bundesliga side.
He made key contributions for the German team, featuring in 18 games and helping Leipzig reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League and finish third in the Bundesliga.
"I'm delighted to be staying in Leipzig and that we can carry on our journey together," Angelino told Leipzig's official website.
"My first six months with Leipzig have been amazing. I'm very much looking forward to the future and lots more success."
Angelino follows Leroy Sane, who joined Bayern Munich, David Silva and Claudio Bravo, who moved to Real Sociedad and Real Betis, respectively, on free transfers, through the exit door at the Etihad Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Citizens are said to be working on a deal to sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, while another forward could also still join the club.
