Official: Haaland's €75m Transfer Announced

Norway international Erling Haaland has officially signed for a new club ahead of the 2022/23 season after his €75 million (R1.2 billion) release clause was reportedly activated.

A week after being dumped out of the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid, Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Haaland following months of speculation surrounding the player's future.

Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022.

The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player.

City triggered the 21-year-old's R1.2 billion buyout clause this week, before he passed his medical ahead of his exciting transfer for the 2022/23 campaign.

Although he has suffered from several injuries this season in Germany, Haaland is widely recognised as one of the world's best strikers, having already found the back of the net on 134 occasions in his senior club career.
