Chelsea have officially sacked Frank Lampard, with Thomas Tuchel reportedly set to replace him.
The club legend was fired following a poor run of results that saw his side drop to ninth on the Premier League log.
Despite beating Luton Town in the FA Cup on Sunday, Lampard has been relieved of his duties, the club confirmed on Monday.
"This was a very difficult decision for the Club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him," owner Roman Abramovich said via a club statement.
Check out some managers who could replace Lampard at Chelsea below:
"He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances, we believe it is best to change managers.
"On behalf of everyone at the Club, the Board and personally, I would like to thank Frank for his work as Head Coach and wish him every success in the future. He is an important icon of this great club and his status here remains undiminished. He will always be warmly welcomed back at Stamford Bridge."
Chelsea spent nearly €250 million (R4.6 billion) ahead of this campaign, but high-profile signings such as Timo Werner and Kai Havertz struggled to find their feet under Lampard.
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel is understood to be the favourite to replace the Englishman at the club's helm.
The German tactician was sacked by Paris Saint-Germain at the end of December last year despite having the highest win percentage in Ligue 1 history and leading them to the UEFA Champions League final last season.
He also lifted six trophies during his two seasons in charge of PSG.
