Chelsea have confirmed the departure of one of their 2020/21 UEFA Champions League winners as Thomas Tuchel continues to trim his squad.

The Blues have confirmed that the fullback Emerson has joined Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon on a season-long loan.
"Emerson Palmieri will spend the remainder of the 2021/22 season in Ligue 1 after completing a loan move to Lyon," a statement from the London club read.
"The 27-year-old defender, who can play at left-back or wing-back, will get his first taste of French football following three-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge."
Lyon have confirmed the loan move will cost €500 000 (R8.9 million), and that there is an option to make the move permanent next season.
"Olympique Lyonnais announces the arrival on loan of defender and double European Champion (with Italy and Chelsea), Emerson Palmieri, through June 30, 2022," Lyon announced in a statement.
"This loan, for a fee of €500 000, to which could be added a maximum of €500 000 in bonuses, will include a purchase option."
