Premier League outfit Arsenal have confirmed the £35 million (R661 million) signing of a 2014 FIFA World Cup winner.
The London side have agreed a deal with Spanish side Valencia for 24-year-old defender Shkodran Mustafi.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been under pressure to bring in a centre back after Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista both picked up injuries during pre-season.
“He is at the right age. He has good experience. He is a very focused player who can play with the ball as well. We have taken a great player but have prepared well for the future," Wenger told the club's official website.
Mustafi played 86 matches in all competitions for the La Liga outfit, and managed to score six goals and assist a further three strikes during his time with Los Che.
