Official: Arsenal Confirm First Signing After Arsene Wenger Era
Arsenal announced their first signing under new coach Unai Emery on Tuesday afternoon.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of names as Emery is expected to revamp the squad, and the club has now confirmed the arrival of Switzerland right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.
"Stephan brings huge experience and leadership to our squad. He's a player with great quality, with a very positive and determined attitude. Stephan will improve us on and off the pitch," Emery told Arsenal's official website.
The 34-year-old spent the last seven seasons at Juventus and has won 14 trophies with the Italian giants, making 259 appearances for the club.
Lichtsteiner, who will be Arsenal's ninth player at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, will wear the No. 12 shirt for the Gunners and signed a one-year contract.
