After securing the signing of Kieran Trippier, Newcastle United are now reportedly preparing a move for a former Manchester United star.
The Magpies are keen on bolstering their squad during the January transfer window as they look to survive relegation with their new wealthy owners in charges.
The club have already brought in LaLiga winner Trippier from Atletico Madrid, and according to La Derniere Heure, they are plotting a move for Marouane Fellaini.
The Belgian midfielder currently plies his trade in the Chinese Super League with Shandong Taishan after leaving the Red Devils in 2019.
Fellaini has recently extended his contract with the club until 2025, but Newcastle are said to be keen on offering him a return to the Premier League.
The report adds that Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray and Besiktas are also keen on the 34-year-old, who scored 10 goals in 22 league appearances this season.
