Onuoha Remembers Ex-Man City Boss' Title Day Tantrum

Former Manchester City star Nedum Onuoha has spoken about how a former Manchester City boss swore at and insulted his own players on the day they won the title.

Onuoha left the Citizens in a permanent move just a few months before Roberto Mancini guided them to their first Premier League title, and was present on the day due to the title-winning game being against his new club, Queens Park Rangers.

City found themselves 2-1 down on that historic afternoon, and as a dramatic comeback was mounting, Mancini seemingly lost his cool.

"Just before they scored their second goal, I'll never forget Mancini was on the sideline and he'd completely lost the plot," Onuoha said, according to Planet Football.

"He was cursing his players, he was insulting them, he was doing everything. The place was wild.

"The pressure in the stadium was as high as I've seen anywhere, in any game. It was chaotic."

The match, which also featured a red card, saw City win 3-2 in the dying seconds, but although QPR were fighting for their safety, they ended up surviving despite the defeat.

"After they scored the third, I thought we were down. I realised we weren't down when, five seconds after I had my hands on my head, I looked up at our fans and they were celebrating in the far stand," he continued.

"I took a breath in, I looked around and saw every single person in the stadium celebrating. I thought, 'This is a moment which I don't think will ever be replicated.'"
