The Daily Express recently put together a starting XI of the most expensive transfers that have taken place in the Premier League so far in this window! Were these players worth the money?

Every year, the Premier League welcomes a host of new talent, while many players also move from one EPL team to another, such as Romelu Lukaku's £75 million (R1.3 billion) transfer to Manchester United from Everton, and Kyle Walker's switch from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester City for £50 million (R867 million). Nemanja Matic's £40 million (R694 million) move was also business done between two English clubs.
Mohamed Salah returned to England's top flight in a £36.9 million (R641million) transfer from Roma to Liverpool, while his former teammate Antonio Rudiger joined Chelsea for £29 million (R503 million).
Ederson's £34.9 million (R607 million) move to Manchester City sees him selected in goal, while Victor Lindelof's £31 million (R537 million) transfer sees him slot into the backline, as does left back Benjamin Mendy following his transfer from Monaco to the Citizens for £52m (R902 million).
Tiemoue Bakayoko, who cost Chelsea £36 million (R624 million) is alongside the aforementioned Matic in midfield, while Bernardo Silva's £40.6 million (R704 million) move to Pep Guardiola's City earned him a spot at left wing.
Striker Alvaro Morata, who joined Chelsea from Real Madrid for £58 million (R1 billion), joined Lukaku in attack.
