Michael Carrick Snubs Cristiano Ronaldo As The Best He Has Played With
Manchester United veteran Michael Carrick has named the best player he has played with in his career, and it is not five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
The midfielder, who is already on the coaching staff at United, will reportedly play the last game of the season as a tribute from manager Jose Mourinho.
Carrick has played with may incredibly talented footballers at Old Trafford, but believes Scholes is the best he has ever lined up alongside.
"I still think I'm just fortunate to have seen him (Scholes) train every day and having the best seat in the house, stood next to him passing the ball and seeing what he could do with it," he told ESPN FC.
"It was just outrageous how good he was. I could pick 10-15 players that I played with over the years, Ronaldo, Wazza (Wayne Rooney), Rio (Ferdinand), Giggsy (Ryan Giggs), Gaz Nev (Gary Neville), he was an unbelievable fullback, unbelievable captain.
"But Scholesy just nicks it."
Carrick has won every single club trophy since joining United in 2006, including five Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
