The only confirmed arrival ahead of the 2018/2019 campaign is former Swansea winger James, a Wales international, where he works under United legend Ryan Giggs.
Several players are still being tracked by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and chief Ed Woodward, with Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka the most heavily linked in recent weeks. The 21-year-old was impressive this past season, and is being touted as one of the best young English talents in the Premier League.
The Daily Mail have claimed Wan-Bissaka is determined to make the switch, though the two clubs are yet to agree a transfer fee for the England U21 international.
A perhaps surprising target is Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff, who like Wan-Bissaka, enjoyed a breakthrough 2018/19 season. Longstaff, 21, is believed to have a few admirers at United, but reports claim Newcastle do not want to sell the starlet.
United are still be in a bidding war with the likes of FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for Ajax Amsterdam centre-back Matthijs de Ligt. The 19-year-old has yet to decide his future, with the Red Devils still hopeful they can convince him of a move to Old Trafford.
Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez has also emerged as a potential target for the 20-time English champions, but who are the players that could leave United?
Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia have had their exits confirmed by the club, though doubt has been cast over the futures of many other first-team players, including striker Romelu Lukaku, who could be on the way to Italy.
The 26-year-old is reportedly wanted by Antonio Conte at Inter Milan, while his colleague Paul Pogba could also very well be off the Serie A. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is believed to be a Juventus target, though Zinedine Zidane is also a major fan of his.
Other high-profile players also feature in both the discussions involving possible incomings and outgoings – click through the gallery above to see all the stars.
