The AS Roma striker has reportedly fallen out with manager Paulo Fonseca and is desperate to secure a move away from the Serie A club.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Dzeko's new agent has been in contact with United, who have signed veteran strikers in recent transfer windows but are facing a race against time should they want to add the 34-year-old to their playing roster.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, did state recently that he does not expect any deadline-day arrivals at his club, casting doubt as to whether or not United are really after the former City forward.

"I would be surprised if we do any incomings.
"The squad is strong, it is full of quality. I still need to leave players out of the squad at times."
