According to Italian publication Calcio Mercato, Matteo Darmian is on Antonio Conte's radar. The right back seems to be out of favour under Mourinho, who prefers to play Antonio Valencia ahead of him.
Darmian arrived back late from the pre-season break after being given extended leave following the 2016 European Championship, and is yet to make an appearance under Mourinho.
Conte, meanwhile, knows Darmian from his time as coach of the Italian national team, and would reportedly like to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
The Daily Mirror, though, claim that Mourinho is not prepared to let Darmian leave for the London club as he does not want to strengthen a direct rival.
The Italian joined United for €18 million (R290 million) in 2015, and made 39 appearances under Louis van Gaal last season.
