Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed this week that the Red Devils are still working on deals to get a few players off their squad list.
According to the Daily Mirror, Lingard has agreed to join up with former United boss David Moyes at West Ham United.
It is claimed that the two clubs have agreed terms on a £1.5 million (R31 million) loan fee, while the Hammers will also pay Lingard's £100 000 (R2 million) weekly wages.
The England international has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, making just three appearances – two in the League Cup and one in the FA Cup – so far this season.
Overall, the 28-year-old has made 210 appearances for United's senior side to date, scoring 33 goals and assisting another 20 strikes along the way. He has also represented England 24 times, including six appearances at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
