Manchester United Star Facing Huge Fine For Going AWOL

A Manchester United star, who left his club's training camp in the US last week, could reportedly be slapped with a huge fine for his recent actions that have angered Jose Mourinho.

Man Utd To Break World Record For Defender?

Winger Anthony Martial was given permission to leave United's pre-season tour last week to be with his pregnant partner.

Reports following the Frenchman's trip to Paris suggested that Mourinho was not pleased that Martial left the team's camp, although the manager did acknowledge there was little he could do to stop the player.

Several publications have since claimed that the 22-year-old, now a father of two, was expected to return to United after just a couple of days, which did not happen.

According to The Guardian, Martial now faces a fine of up to £180 000 (R3.1 million) for his failure to return earlier, although it is not clear exactly when he was supposed to be back with the squad.

The player, whose future at United was uncertain before this latest controversy, issued a statement on Twitter on Wednesday regarding the matter.

"Thank you all for your messages. My little Swan is fine, for the mother it was more difficult but thank god she is better now. Sorry but my family will always go before everything. Back tomorrow in Manchester," he tweeted.

Man Utd Want Zidane To Follow Mourinho

Martial has been linked with moves Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea in this transfer window.

Yes, I think so, but he should also change how he do things we all know family comes first, we should also know we need our jobs to feed our families so he must be careful of what he writes because other teams are looking also and nobody wants someone who can't behave
