With it being reported that Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho had an argument on the training ground last month, a Manchester United star has now explained what the row was about.
A day after Mourinho stripped Pogba of the club's vice-captaincy, a video appearing to show the pair having a disagreement before the start of a training session did the rounds on social media.
The quarrel was said to be due to a video the Frenchman had posted on Instagram, of him and a few teammates who were not playing against Derby County in the League Cup laughing on the night of that fixture.
Reports suggested that Mourinho thought Pogba's video was a direct reaction to United losing, although it has since been claimed that Wi-Fi issues at Old Trafford that night caused the video to upload later than intended.
Andreas Pereira, who was with Pogba in the stands that night, has now confirmed that that was indeed what their spat was about.
"We were winning the game 1-0 at the time of the video," he told UOL Sport.
"Then we lost the game, and people said that Pogba posted later. But he posted before.
"The manager thought that Pogba had posted later. He asked him why that had happened.
"There was a mood about it. These things were out here in England. But I have nothing to do with it."
Pogba has since been linked with a move away from the Red Devils, with Juventus and FC Barcelona believed to be interested in his signature.
