Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho Takes Fresh Dig At Pep Guardiola's Manchester City?
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho appears to have taken a sly dig at Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City after their FA Cup exit to League One outfit Wigan Athletic.
The match was marred by touchline spats, tunnel bust-ups and Sergio Aguero apparently throwing a punch at a rival supporter after the final whistle.
In a press conference, Mourinho wasted no time highlighting the Citizen's antics during the game and claimed that their behaviour is something one would never see from the Red Devils.
“Of course, we would like to be better in the Premier League, but we are where we are," Mourinho said, as quoted by The Sun.
“In the Champions League, we are alive. In the FA Cup, we are alive.
“In the Carabao Cup, after winning last season, we lost in the quarter-final.
"But we lost like Manchester United likes to lose – with dignity, with fair play, with participation in the happiness of a giant killer.
“So even in the Capital (Carabao) Cup, we lost against a Championship team, I would say that as a Manchester United manager that way of behaving as a big team, even in defeat we were a big team.”
The English Football Federation has charged Wigan and Manchester City for failing to control their players during the fifth-round FA clash, while Aguero escaped punishment for his altercation with the Latics fan.
