‘Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho Could Be Messing Paul Pogba Up’
The relationship between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba seems to have taken a strain in recent weeks at Manchester United, and a former Premier League player believes the Portuguese could be hurting his star player.
Pogba has been taken off twice in United’s last three games, while he also started from the bench against Huddersfield.
Steve Nicol, an ex-Liverpool player, feels that Mourinho is picking a fight with Pogba like he did with Eden Hazard at Chelsea.
“I’m not going to argue with you that he should be doing more,” he explained about Pogba on ESPN FC.
“I totally agree with that. But does this not smell a little bit like Hazard at Chelsea, the year after they won the league?
“All of a sudden your star man, who’s not playing well, is not starting. Then the whole season goes to pot. This could happen with Pogba as well.
“Is this the personality of Mourinho that he picks on one of his stars and just messes them up?”
Pogba has played 23 games this season, scoring three goals and assisting a further 10 strikes.
