Having made 74 appearances under Ten Hag's management in the Netherlands, Jurrien Timber is well aware of what it takes to succeed under the 52-year-old tactician.
According to reports, Timber, 20, has verbally agreed to a transfer to the struggling 20-time English champions, with contact between the player and United said to have been made earlier this week.
The Ajax Amsterdam academy product is a centre-back by trade, but has been used in several roles under Ten Hag since his senior debut in the 2020/21 campaign.
It is believed that the six-time Netherlands international is one of several transfer targets already identified by the new Red Devils boss, who started working in his new role on Monday.
With Timber having reportedly given United the nod of approval, it is expected that the English giants and Ajax will soon enter into negotiations over a deal.
