Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has become the first player in Premier League history to be named Player of the Month four times in a calendar year, while also equalling the award tally of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 26-year-old joined United last year January and has played a huge role in the club’s upswing this season.
Fernandes has scored 11 goals and assisted another seven in the league this campaign so far and has now been crowned Premier League Player of the Month of December.
He became the first player to win the award four times in a calendar year, after already lifting it in February, June and November 2020.
The midfielder has now also won the accolade as many times as Ronaldo claimed during his six years at the club.
Fernandes has helped United to climb to the top of the league table, three points ahead of Liverpool, with both clubs facing each other on Sunday.
