According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are aiming to get some business done as they hold discussions with four players on Erik ten Hag's apparent wish list.
The Italian journalist claims that Cristiano Ronaldo's reported disappointment with the club's lack of new arrivals will not force the Red Devils to scramble, with Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong still a priority signing for the 20-time English champions.
Furthermore, United are still in talks with Ajax Amsterdam for three players, in the form of Netherlands international Jurrien Timber, Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez and Brazil winger Antony.
In Timber's case, the Dutch centre-back is said to hold reservations over a potential move to United, with it being a FIFA World Cup year as he aims to cement a place in Louis van Gaal's Netherlands plans.
Martinez, meanwhile, is also being pursued by Arsenal, while the latest on Antony's possible transfer to the Red Devils appears unknown at this point.
United fans have so far been frustrated with the club's strategy as a number of Premier League rivals have strengthened their squads ahead of the 2022/23 season, including the Gunners, Liverpool and Manchester City.
