The Portuguese tactician's side trailed 1-0 at the break, and things got worse when Patrick van Aanholt extended the Eagles' lead three minutes into the second half. However, England international Chris Smalling found the back of the net a few minutes later, which effectively started the comeback.
After the game, Mourinho refused to elaborate on what he actually told the players at half-time, but confirmed he used some colourful language.
"I cannot tell you half of the things I told my team at half-time because there would be lots of bleeping on television," Mourinho said, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
"I can only tell you the other half and that was about the tactical position in the first half.
"To come back from 2-0 down away from home against a team that is desperate for points, it gives us a great feeling."
The former Chelsea boss also slammed his side for the way they conceded the second goal.
"That disgraceful, childish second goal changed everything. But the players kept an amazing attitude," he added
Striker Romelu Lukaku and midfielder Nemanja Matic completed the Red Devils' fightback on the night, which saw Moutinho's men move back into second place in the Premier League table.
