With all the recent reports linking France superstar Paul Pogba with a move away from Manchester United, manager Jose Mourinho has given his take on the midfielder's happiness at Old Trafford.
What It Would Cost Man Utd To Sack Mourinho Revealed?
The 25-year-old, who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with his national team, is reportedly being chased by Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Serie A outfit Juventus, but with the English transfer window now closed, it seems unlikely any deal will materialise.
In a press conference on Thursday, Mourinho said Pogba has returned to the club motivated and raring to go, but also admitted the player might not be ready to feature against Leicester City on Friday night.
"My perception, he arrived Monday, happy, proud, a desire to work," the Portuguese tactician said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
"He worked amazingly well Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. He is one of the players that I have to speak to, to see how physically and mentally he feels.
"But it is the same conversation as with (Ashley) Young, (Marouane) Fellaini, (Jesse) Lingard, and it's the same.
"If they feel they can help us (against Leicester) – 20 minutes, 10 minutes, half an hour. We do not have many solutions and want to go with everything we have.
"I see (Pogba) very well, but we need words with that small group to see if they can give us a hand. We have to try and get the best out of every player."
Juventus To Offer Man Utd Cash Plus Star For Pogba?
United, who begin their 2018/19 Premier League campaign against the Foxes at 21:00 SA time on Friday, failed to add any reinforcement to their squad on deadline day.
