City have made great strides since Guardiola's arrival in 2016, but even after last season's incredible Premier League-winning campaign, the Spaniard will not be resting on his laurels.
The Citizens have been linked with several reinforcements ahead of the 2018/19 season, but a few players could also leave the club in this window.
Goalkeeper Joe Hart, who spent last season on loan at West Ham United, might be sold permanently, with MLS side New York City FC reportedly interested in his signature, according to talkSPORT.
The same also goes for shot-stopper Claudio Bravo, who has been second choice to Ederson since the Brazilian's arrival at the Etihad at the beginning of last season. The Chilean might seek first-team football elsewhere, and at 35 years old, he could look to do that as soon as possible.
Eliaquim Mangala is another player who has not been a favourite under Guardiola, while reports suggest that Jason Denayer could move to Galatasaray on a permanent deal, following his season-long loan deal at the Turkish club in 2017/18.
Legendary striker Sergio Aguero's future is also a topic of discussion whenever the transfer window is open, with many believing Guardiola is not his biggest fan. The forward has been linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid, as well as with a transfer to his homeland Argentina.
On the incoming front, Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic has been mentioned as a possible target after Jorginho snubbed the Citizens for Chelsea. According to Manchester Evening News, City are considering a move for the Croatian.
Bayern Munich's David Alaba has also been linked with City, as has his club teammate Robert Lewandowski, who has previously hinted at wanting a new challenge. The Pole has before been linked with a move to the EPL giants, where he could reunite with Guardiola.
Bleacher Report believe Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl is also being monitored by his admirer Guardiola, with reports in Germany and England speculating that the 22-year-old is at the top of the manager's wish list.
Fulham's 18-year-old wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon has also been linked with last season's EPL winners, as per The Sun and the Daily Mail.
