Manchester City To Bid £100m For Chelsea Star?
Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly plotting a £100 million (R1.68 billion) bid for a Chelsea star.
According to the Daily Star, City manager Pep Guardiola is keen to make Belgium international Eden Hazard his No. 1 signing for the new campaign.
The Citizens are planning on breaking the British transfer record – currently the £89 million (R1.5 billion) Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba – for the Belgian, and are willing to offer him wages of £300 000 (R5 million) a week.
The former FC Barcelona boss knows the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping a close eye on Hazard, who has two years left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge.
The 27-year-old was in stunning form for his club in their FA Cup final win against Manchester United on Saturday, during which he scored the only goal to help the Blues beat the Red Devils 1-0 at Wembley.
Hazard, who has had a largely frustrating season under Antonio Conte, has refused to commit his long-term future to the London club and has hinted that he would be interested in a move to LaLiga.
The former Lille star made 52 appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring 17 goals and assisting a further 13 strikes.
