Silva was signed from Valencia in 2010 and has been instrumental in the club’s success over the years.
“I am so happy to have committed my future to the club. I am incredibly proud of what I have achieved at City in my seven-and-a-half seasons here and with Pep in charge, I feel we are in a great position to win trophies this season and beyond,” the midfielder said.
The club’s Director of Football Txiki Bergiristain said on the website: “We are very pleased with this announcement. Not only has David Silva been central to the club’s success over recent years, he remains one of the team’s key players.”
Pep Guardiola’s side have been in sensational form this season, amassing 19-consecutive victories which the Spanish international has been enjoying greatly.
With Silva staying at the Manchester club for at least another two seasons, the Cityzens will be hopeful that the little magician can wave his wand and keep up his stellar performances.
