The new list of City’s costliest captures of all time contains three players purchased in this transfer window, with the oldest deal in the gallery being Robinho’s 2009 move from Real Madrid for £36m (R603 million).

Fernandinho’s arrival in 2014 for £36m (R603 million) is the cheapest of the deals in the 10-man list, followed by the aforementioned Robinho and Nicolas Otamendi, who joined the Premier League from Valencia in 2015 for a fee said to have been around £40.14m (R670 million).

Seventh on the list is Leroy Sane’s move for £45m (R754 million) from Schalke at the start of last season, with the German being followed by Bernardo Silva who signed for £45m (R754 million) in this window, as well as Kyle Walker, who City paid Tottenham Hotspur £45.9m (R769 million).

De Bryn lacks consistency. I remember at some point Pep said he was very close to Messi & CR7 talent wise, & it was after this lad showed some good performances especially in front of goals. But that was just a once off thing. Yes he is not a bad player, but he is not a top player.
